Job Description

Role Description: Netcompany is seeking a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join its Cloud Operations Team and drive forward our support capability to deliver high-performing solutions to our clients. Based in a brand new purpose-built office in Leeds city centre, you will join a forward-thinking organisation that prioritises your personal development.

About the Role: As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud solutions for our prestigious clients. You will leverage your expertise in Azure and Infrastructure as Code to deliver robust, scalable, and secure cloud environments. This role offers significant opportunities for professional growth and the chance to work on some of the largest, most complex and technically innovative programmes in the industry.

Key Skills/Experience

Essential

  • Minimum of 3 years' extensive experience with Azure cloud services, including advanced resource management, networking, and security implementations
  • 2 years' hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code methodologies in enterprise environments
  • Proven track record of architecting and implementing complex cloud solutions at scale
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues in production environments
  • Strong knowledge in at least one scripting/programming language (PowerShell, Python, Bash) with demonstrable complex automation implementations
  • Experience designing and implementing robust monitoring solutions and advanced alerting strategies
  • Strong background in cloud security principles and implementation of security controls in Azure environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions with stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team knowledge growth
  • Excellent project estimation capabilities with a history of delivering complex projects on time
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional problem-solving abilities
  • Must be willing to do UK-based travel for projects
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to achieve UK Security Clearance

Desirable

  • Experience designing and implementing sophisticated CI/CD pipelines for enterprise applications
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar advanced CI/CD tools
  • Deep understanding of containerisation technologies and orchestration with Kubernetes in production environments
  • Experience with multi-cloud architectures and hybrid cloud solutions
  • Knowledge of cost optimisation strategies for cloud resources
  • Experience with advanced Azure services such as Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Cognitive Services
  • Azure certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or DevOps Engineer Expert
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Azure Monitor at scale
  • Background in implementing disaster recovery and high-availability solutions for critical systems
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent senior-level professional experience
  • Relevant professional certifications such as Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer) are highly desirable

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be reliable and flexible.
  • Hours of work will be between 08:00 - 18:00, with an 8-hour working day staggered across the 10-hour timeframe.
